Stam reeling as Reading suffer major injury blow ahead of Leeds fixture

Under pressure Reading boss Jaap Stam has been dealt a serious blow ahead of their fixture with Leeds United this weekend.

Reading are down in 20th position with just nine points so far, having failed to build on the season last year which saw them claim a surprise play-off place.

They will be without Jordan Obita this weekend when they travel to Leeds, and potentially the rest of the season according to BBC Sport.

Obita has had to undergo surgery after injuring his ACL, and faces a lengthy spell out.

The 23-year-old recently signed a new contract and played a key part in Reading's success last season, making 39 appearances in total.

Obita picked up the injury in the Championship game against Hull City in late September.
