The Tottenham Hotspur player is on loan at Aston Villa this season.
Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur fans would both have taken an interest in Josh Onomah's latest appearance for England's under-21s, with the midfielder scoring an absolute belter against Scotland's next generation to prove his credentials in some fashion.
But has it been enough to earn the Villa loanee a return to their starting line-up for the weekend clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers?
After all, the Tottenham youngster has slipped down the pecking order at Villa Park despite a promising start, named on the bench for Villa's last four matches and appearing late on every time.
He still managed to find the net against Burton Albion last month, and his role as a super-sub could yet define his time with Steve Bruce's men. But Onomah's latest strike for his country showed just what a special talent he is and Villa may have a tough decision on their hands this weekend.
The club have been flying in recent weeks and Bruce will be loathe to change a winning formula, especially against a Wolves side with promotion hopes of their own.
Tottenham fans would love to see their player featuring week in, week out at Villa Park. The issue is, that for all the headlines generated by his wonder-strike, he may not be the best fit from the outset now that Bruce has settled on a winning formula.
