The Arsenal man was on target for France last night.
France booked their spot at the World Cup in Russia next summer with a 2-1 win over Belarus in Paris last night.
Arsenal hitman Olivier Giroud doubled les Bleus' lead on 33 minutes after Antoine Griezmann opened the scoring shortly before t he half-hour mark.
Anton Saroka pulled one back for the visitors but it was not enough and the Arsenal man wound up with much of the post-match praise by virtue of the fact that his goal turned out to be the winner in the French capital.
In doing so, Giroud also became his country's seventh-most prolific goalscorer of all time for what was his 28th goal in 68th cap.
And Arsenal fans were quick to praise the 31-year-old striker on Twitter afterwards.

Would love to see Giroud and Laca play together for us— KT (@WatsonAFC) October 10, 2017
Giroud has the habit of scoring unusual goals but his goal against Belarus is proper striker goal exploiting the space between defenders.— Akhìl Mòhàn (@AkhilAFC) October 10, 2017

Giroud should be an Arsenal legend. Shame he isn't— T (@TobyAFC1) October 10, 2017
Have to say it again, Giroud is the most underrated player at Arsenal #AFC— Unbiased Gooner (@UnbiasedGoooner) October 10, 2017
It's true. The man is lethal in front of goal which is a player that someone like Everton would like to have.— YaGunnersYa11 (@yagunnersya711) October 10, 2017
Giroud, what a man.— Dan Critchlow (@afcDW) October 10, 2017
Giroud bagged his 100th Arsenal goal when the Gunners beat Bate Borisov in the Europa League last month.
Signed for £12 million in 2012, the former Montpellier man is an often-underrated member of the Emirates Stadium club - and perhaps still is in spite of centurion status - but his goals for club and country don't lie: Giroud is a very gifted forward.
