Two goals in your opening six Premier League games for a new club may not appear a terrible return for a striker by any means, but as HITC Sport found out, Joselu seems to have a lot of work to do before he wins the Newcastle supporters round.
Unsurprisingly, having just secured promotion back to the Premier League last season, the Magpies targeted bolstering their striker ranks in the summer.

But Rafa Benitez was only able to spend £5 million on strengthening his strike force, with BBC Sport reporting that that was how much Newcastle spent on bringing Joselu in from Stoke during the last couple of weeks of the window.
As mentioned, the Spaniard has started life at St James' Park fairly brightly when you look at his statistics alone, with two goals coming so far, including the equaliser against Liverpool in their most recent outing.
However, the situation has left a number of supporters frustrated, with some questioning whether the 27-year-old is good enough to be the sole striker addition to the squad from the summer, while others are much more disappointed at the club for giving Benitez so little room to manoeuvre in the market given the money he had to spend.
"From the games I've seen him, he's been misfiring quite a lot," one supporter told HITC Sport.
"I think in January you need a better striker. You need to go out there and not just get budget strikers for £5/6 million. That's not good enough for the 52,000 that come here every week," another fan suggested.
"Rafa wanted X brought in for this amount and he ended up with Stoke's fifth choice striker for £5 million," another supporter said.
While Joselu's arrival and form has so far received a lukewarm reaction, one fan suggested that the signs that they are seeing from him are positive.
"Give him some time. I think he needs to find his feet a bit. But he's getting in the right places, getting the opportunities. It'll come."
One supporter made an interesting suggestion that rather than turn to Joselu, Benitez should have considered taking a gamble on one forward who has come through the ranks at St James' Park, and has made a good impression when he has left the club on loan in the past.
"Adam Armstrong doesn't get a chance. I'm not saying he's going to set the world alight if he comes, but he doesn't even get a chance. He goes out on loan every single season," one fan said.
