Arsenal legend Ray Parlour suggested on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (08:39am, October 10, 2017) that clubs will make offers for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks in the January transfer window.

Winks made his debut for the England national football team against Lithuania away from home in their final 2018 World Cup qualifier on Sunday evening.

The 21-year-old midfielder was arguably the best player on the pitch, as the Three Lions won 1-0.

The youngster, though, is not guaranteed a place in the Spurs starting lineup, and it is unlikely that he will be a regular anytime soon.

Tottenham have one of the strongest midfields in the Premier League, and Winks, who is a rising star and is hugely talented, will have to be patient.

Former Arsenal star Parlour believes that there will be clubs interested in signing Winks in the January transfer window.

Harry Winks of England arrives prior to the FIFA 2018 World Cup Group F Qualifier between Lithuania and England at LFF Stadium on October 8, 2017 in Vilnius, Lithuania.

“It’s a squad game these days, you need big squads, and I am sure that’s one player they don’t want to lose, Spurs,” said Parlour about Winks on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (08:39am, October 10, 2017).

“If the transfer window comes open, lots of clubs would love to have someone like Harry Winks and play him every week, but Spurs need to keep him as well.”

According to The Times, Tottenham will hand Winks a new contract which will double his wages to £40,000 a week.
