A number of Football League clubs are eyeing a move for former Tottenham and Swansea man Giancarlo Gallifuoco after impressing at Dover, HITC Sport understands.

Gallifuoco joined Dover in the summer after leaving Torquay United and the 23-year-old has quickly established himself as a key player in the Dover side.

The central defender has been instrumental in helping Dover to second spot in the National League with the most clean sheets in the league and he has also chipped in with three goals in 15 appearances.

Gallifuoco's displays have not gone unnoticed among clubs higher up the footbal pyramid with several sides watching him in action this season in the National League.

The likes of Championship side Barnsley and League One outfit Peterborough both have enjoyed success in taking players from the lower leagues and they are actively monitoring Gallifuoco's situation.

Gallifuoco only signed a one-year deal at Dover upon his arrival meaning he could leave for free next summer and the club are bracing themselves for interest in the Australian Under-23 international when the transfer window reopens in January.

Gallifuoco first moved to England in 2012 when he joined Tottenham as a teenager, but he failed to make a senior appearance during his two years in North London.

He then moved to Swansea City for one season before returning to Australia with Melbourne Victory, but he returned to the UK in 2016 with Torquay and spent one season at Plainmoor before joining Dover this summer.
