West Bromwich Albion winger and Celtic fan James McClean fired the Republic of Ireland into a World Cup playoff spot on Monday night.
The 28-year-old rifled home a 57th-minute winner in Cardiff as the Irish beat Wales 1-0 last night to finish second in Group D behind Serbia and keep alive their hopes of going to Russia in the summer.
It was the second big goal that the West Brom man has netted in the qualification campaign after also grabbing the winner in Vienna.
The Derry-born winger is a Celtic fan and his Republic of Ireland team-mate Shane Duffy joked on Sunday that McClean wanted Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers to sign him.
And it seems like Celtic fans are all for the idea if their Twitter comments are anything to go by.

It'll be an absolute travesty if James McClean doesn't end up playing for Celtic. Dunno where he'd fit in but just make it happen Brendan— Franco (@ToniMcFadden67) October 9, 2017
Would love James McLean to sign for Celtic.— Nicky martin (@nickybhoy1888) October 9, 2017
Don't think lawell would allow it tho.
McClean is valued at around £2.6 million and has not started a Premier League game for the Baggies since August, so a January move wouldn't be hugely unlikely.
Celtic signed Jonny Hayes to improve their left-wing options in the summer but the £1.3 million former Aberdeen man hasn't done it for the Hoops as of yet.
