The Aston Villa forward is an exciting young talent.
Aston Villa youngster Harry McKirdy took to Twitter on Monday to announce that he had agreed a new deal at the club, and in time the 20-year-old is expected to make his mark for the senior side.
The striker is still learning the game and he is not as advanced as Keinan Davis, who is already taking the Championship by storm. But Villa boss Steve Bruce clearly rates McKirdy highly and when you consider he scored a three-minute hat-trick in a Hong Kong Sevens match earlier this year, that is no surprise.
Villa have a number of exciting young players coming through the ranks and they will have seen the progress of Andre Green and Keinan Davis and known that if they keep their heads down and work hard, anything is possible.
Villa have got over their early-season struggles to sit just outside the play-off spots prior to the latest international break, and if they keep up their current form and everyone stays fit, they could well be back in the top flight come May.
McKirdy will be hoping to make his first-team debut sooner rather than later, but after putting pen to paper his sole focus will be on scoring the goals for Villa's under-23 side that in time give Bruce no choice but to include the forward in his plans.
Yet to score for Villa's second string this season, hopefully his new contract will boost his confidence both on and off the field.
