Australia fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Celtic attacking midfielder Tom Rogic against Syria.

Rogic featured for Australia in their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Syria on Tuesday. The 24-year-old Celtic attacking midfielder started the match and played for 96 minutes.

Omar Al Somah put Syria in the lead in Sydney as early as the sixth minute, but former Everton star Tim Cahill equalised for the home team seven minutes later.

Syria ended the match with 10 men due to the sending-off of Mahmoud Al Mawas in the 94th minute.

The first leg of qualifying round finished 1-1, and the 2-1 win for Australia in Sydney on Tuesday means that Ange Postecoglou’s side have progressed to the final qualifying round 3-2 on aggregate.
