Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are making headlines for off-the-pitch matters at the moment.
The veteran hitman has been playing and training with Rangers' Under-20 side following a row with Caixinha.
It had previously been suggested that the Portuguese boss has banished Miller on the basis that he has been leaking information about the team's affairs to the media.
Overall the stand-off between the pair has been dominating the back pages in Scotland and it appears as if Rangers are making headlines for what happens off the pitch rather than on it at the moment.
And Thompson, who spent three years at Ibrox until 2006, has urged somebody from his former club to release a statement on the matter in a bid to finally put the issue to bed once and for all.
"The thing that annoys me about this situation is it's a bit of a circus, what's going on off the pitch at Ibrox; with Caixinha's interviews, with the Kenny Miller situation", he told BBC Scotland.
"I think that somebody from within the club has to make a statement about what's going on. Nobody knows. Fans are guessing. It's all hearsay.
"How about we just get a statement so we can all put it to bed. The fans deserve a reason and an explanation."
