Neville Southall has praised Farhad Moshiri for backing Everton boss Ronald Koeman.

Reports on Sky Sports last night suggested that Everton’s board were intending to keep hold of Koeman, despite their poor start to the new campaign.

The calls for Koeman to be sacked are growing louder from the crowd at Goodison Park, with Everton badly struggling so far.

The Toffees were beaten 1-0 by Burnley yesterday, and they put in an abject display during the contest.

Everton are now stuck in 16th place in the Premier League table, and they are just two points above the relegation zone.

Koeman is the bookies’ favourite to be sacked, but it seems that he still has the backing of the board for now.

And Southall is also seemingly of the opinion that Everton should be keeping hold of Koeman.

If Koeman is to win over his critics, he will need to find the winning formula at Everton sooner rather than later.

Everton are next in action against Brighton and Hove Albion after the international break.
