BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks says he senses Arsenal supporters are running scared of rivals Tottenham Hotspur's prolific striker Harry Kane.

Kane cannot stop scoring at present and Crooks says that as an ex-Tottenham player he regularly hears jibes from Arsenal supporters that the England ace is over-hyped.

Harry Kane #10 of Tottenham Hotspur reacts in the second half against Roma during the International Champions Cup on July 25, 2017 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey.

Crooks, naming Kane in his Team of the Week, believes fans of rivals Arsenal are worried about the striker.

He said: "Arsenal fans can try to convince themselves otherwise, but I have seen Kane score magnificent goals against the very best. Even if some Arsenal fans are in denial.

"I quite understand critics claiming that Kane's hat-trick against Apoel Nicosia in the Champions League and double at Huddersfield on Saturday won't win him the Ballon d'Or, but it does build up an unassailable confidence.

"This is particularly the case when you are about to meet your rivals in a north London derby. Maybe that's what could be bothering Arsenal fans!"

The North London derby is a fair way off yet though, with the first of the season scheduled to take place on November 18 at The Emirates.

Spurs have a 100 per cent away record this season in all competitions, but they face a big job to keep it that way by mid-November.

Tottenham are currently in third place, one point ahead of rivals Arsenal.

For once Spurs fans are not taking much notice of the Gunners, and are focusing on trying to catch the Manchester clubs, who currently both sit five points ahead.
