Confirmed Cardiff City v Leeds United line-ups: Klich starts, Saiz only on the bench

Thomas Christiansen manager of Leeds United looks on before the Carabao Cup Third Round match between Burnley and Leeds United at Turf Moor on September 19, 2017 in Burnley, England.

Leeds United take on Cardiff City in the Championship tonight.

Cardiff City starting line-up: Etheridge; Peltier, Manga, Bamba, Morrison, Bennett; Damour, Bryson; Hoilett, Mendez-Laing, Zohore.

Cardiff City substitutes: Murphy, Connolly, Halford, Tomlin, Feeney, Bogle, Ward.

Leeds United starting line-up: Wiedwald; Ayling, Jansson, Cooper, Berardi; Klich, Phillips; Alioski, Hernandez, Dallas; Roofe.

Leeds United substitutes: Lonergan, Pennington, Vieira, Sacko, Saiz, Lasogga, Grot.

Championship leaders Leeds United face a huge clash this evening, as they travel to South Wales to take on second-placed Cardiff City.

The Whites beat Ipswich Town 3-2 on Saturday afternoon to get back on track having lost 1-0 at Millwall in their previous Championship game.

Thomas Christiansen will be hoping to avoid a slip-up at the Cardiff City Stadium tonight, and he has naturally named a strong side for the game.

Felix Wiedwald keeps his place in goal, whilst Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper, the returning Pontus Jansson and Gaetano Berardi start across the back four.

Mateusz Klich starts in midfield alongside Kalvin Phillips, with Ezgjan Alioski, Pablo Hernandez and Stuart Dallas called upon to create behind lone striker Kemar Roofe.

That means that Christiansen has rested both Samu Saiz and Pierre-Michel Lasogga tonight, and they are joined on the substitutes bench by Andy Lonergan, Matthew Pennington, Ronaldo Vieira, Hadi Sacko and Jay-Roy Grot.

Meanwhile, Cardiff have named two-ex Leeds defenders in their back line, as Lee Peltier and Sol Bamba will join Bruno Ecuele Manga, Sean Morrison and Joe Bennett in front of goalkeeper Neil Etheridge.

Loic Damour and Craig Bryson start in midfield, whilst Junior Hoilett and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing will support striker Kenneth Zohore in the final third.

Brian Murphy, Matthew Connolly, Greg Halford, Lee Tomlin, Omar Bogle and Liam Feeney join ex-Leeds youngster Danny Ward on the Cardiff bench this evening.
