Pundits disagreed on which of Arsenal and Tottenham will finish the season on top in the Premier League.

BT Sport pundit Ian Wright looks on prior to the Emirates FA Cup Semi-Final match between Arsenal and Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on April 23, 2017 in London, England.

Former Premier League stars Ian Wright and Tim Sherwood were split on which North London club will finish higher this season.

Wright, formerly of Arsenal, believes Arsene Wenger’s side will eventually come good.

Speaking to SkySports’ The Debate (19/9 10pm), Wright said: “Arsenal. If the result versus Chelsea was anything to go by, they can do a lot better. I’m going to go with Arsenal to finish ahead of Tottenham of course.”

His opinion was slapped down by former Tottenham midfielder and manager Tim Sherwood, who believes there has already been a power shift.

Sherwood responded: “Not a chance. Arsenal are chasing Tottenham. The tables have turned now.”

Last season was the first time in Arsene Wenger’s 20 year reign as Arsenal manager that the Gunners finished the season below Tottenham.

They finished fifth while Spurs ended the campaign in a lofty second place, their best finish in the Premier League era.

Arsenal have won it three times under Wenger, but their last success came 13 years ago.

So far this season both sides have had mixed results, both losing early games.

Tottenham are in fifth place and Arsenal in 13th, but just one point separates the two teams.
