Nadir Ciftci is yet to score a single League One goal since swapping Celtic for Plymouth Argyle in the summer.
It’s hard to believe Nadir Ciftci is still a Celtic player. The club did its best to find a buyer for the misfit striker in the summer (Daily Record) but, unsurprisingly, there were no takers for a player who did not score a single goal during the 2016/17 campaign.
And, after eight barren games on loan at Polish side Pogon Szczecin last season, in which the club’s manager criticised him for a lack of fitness and admitted he had fallen well below expectations according to the Daily Record, the 25-year-old is struggling to make much of an improved impression during a temporary spell at Plymouth Argyle.
He was substituted 68 minutes into Saturday’s goalless League One draw with Bury, meaning Ciftci is yet to find the back of the net in five third tier appearances for Plymouth.
And it’s fair to say a lot of supporters have been left rather disappointed by his impact. The prospect of landing a striker from Scottish champions Celtic, not to mention one that scored 34 goals in two seasons at Dundee United, had the Green Army united in optimism at the start of the season.
However, hopes are quickly draining that Ciftci can replicate the form that once earned him the legendary Celtic number seven shirt.
Ciftci has reached his Nadir.
Give him back to Celtic, he obviously doesn't want to be here, give fletcher a chance

Blissett was a lot better tonight. Don't know why he took him off & left on Ciftci. Guy was dead on his feet & is clearly unfit! #pafc

Should've started that way round!

Unfortunately I have been left unimpressed again by our number 9. Slow, not mobile & I can see why he hasn't scored in 2 years. #pafc

Totally agree I think a lot of people got excited by his stats from a few seasons ago but can't see him replicating it anytime soon #pafc

Did Ciftci actually do anything today? I think this flag moved more #pafc @Only1Argyle pic.twitter.com/mGSnmb1twt
