Could Leeds United add yet another exciting attacking midfielder to their ranks?

According to the print edition of the Sun (17/09/2017 page 63) Leeds United are planning to sign Emiliano Buendia in January, and if he arrives it would represent another fine piece of business from the Whites' director of football Victor Orta.

The 20-year-old is currently on the books at Getafe but he is on loan at Cultural Leonesa - a side Leeds know well following an agreement recently struck between the two teams in terms of player development.

Buendia has seemingly caught the eye of the Leeds hierarchy following his spell at Cultural, although he has also turned out 37 times for his parent club, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the process.

With one goal and two assists in just five appearances for his loan club, it is clear the Leeds target is a talent worth watching, and it will be interesting to see if a deal can be struck in the next few months that sees the young Argentine arrive at Elland Road in the next transfer window.

An attacking midfielder who would offer even more quality given the presence of Samu Saiz and Pablo Hernandez, Buendia's arrival would be another statement of intent considering some of the young players who arrived at Yorkshire from the continent earlier this summer.

A potential stumbling block comes from the fact that the 20-year-old's loan deal with Cultural runs until June 2018, so that would have to be terminated early to enable Leeds to bring the player to Elland Road for the second half of this season.
