Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that Pierre-Michel Lasogga will be available for the match against Millwall this weekend.

The West Yorkshire outfit will take on Millwall away from home at The Den in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Lasogga, who joined Leeds from Hamburg on a season-long loan deal in the summer transfer window, will be available for the game as his girlfriend has yet to give birth, as reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post.

Christiansen has also said that defender Liam Cooper will be fit for this afternoon’s match against Millwall, with the 26-year-old central defender having recovered from a small back problem.

“Yes,” Christiansen told The Yorkshire Evening Post when asked if Lasogga would be available for the trip to Millwall. “The baby is still not here but he is here.

"He is very important to us. He went home to see his wife but the baby didn't arrive so he came back. He will be here this weekend.”

"He had a small problem in the back but it is better,” Christiansen said about Cooper. “He is doing good work and I expect him to be with us."

Lasogga is the main striker at Leeds, while Cooper has forged a formidable partnership with Pontus Jansson at the back for the Whites.

The duo’s availability for the match against Millwall should fill the Leeds fans with optimism, as they will enhance the Whites’ chances of winning the match against Millwall.

Leeds have a much better team than Millwall do, and the should be able to pick up all three points from this afternoon’s encounter.
