Georges-Kevin N'Koudou arrived at Tottenham Hotspur last summer amid hope and expectations.
According to BBC Sport, Tottenham had to pay Marseille a transfer fee of £9 million in order to secure the services of the 22-year-old winger.
The former France Under-21 international winger failed to make a massive impact at White Hart Lane last season.
N’Koudou has yet to make an appearance in a competitive match for Spurs this season, and it looks like he will play a peripheral role for the North London once again in 2017-18, given the competition that he faces to establish himself in the first team.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, though, does seem to have faith in the former Nantes and Marseille youngster.
Pochettino has also outlined how the 22-year-old Frenchman can convince him to give his more minutes.
The Spurs boss has also said that N'Koudou could get some minutes during their EFL Cup tie against Barnsley at the Wembley Stadium in London next Tuesday evening.
“Try to work hard, try to perform as well during every single training session, be consistent,” Pochettino told Football.London when asked what N’Koudou needs to do to get more minutes.
“Today was his first training session with the group. Maybe it is too early for tomorrow but maybe he will have the possibility on Tuesday to play a little bit or from the start of the game.”
“Yes, he feels more confidence,” Pochettino told Football.London when asked how N’Koudou has settled in at Tottenham.
“I think always when you are young when you come from a different country and culture always you need time. He is now more settled, more relaxed and calm.
"It was good in the pre-season, he played a lot of minutes and was unlucky he got an injury that put him out for a while. I think now he is motivated to try to show his quality and always that is welcome.”
