The Croatian played the full 90 minutes for Everton against Atalanta.
Everton's Nikola Vlasic
Everton fans have been having their say on Nikola Vlasic's first start for the club.
The deadline day signing from Hajduk Split came on for the final 10 minutes of Saturday's 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur, but was given the full 90 minutes to impress when the Toffees travelled to Bergamo on Thursday.
Collectively speaking, it was not a good night, as Ronald Koeman's side were again beaten by three goals to nil, this time by Atalanta.
Atalanta goalscorer Bryan Cristante
But as far as many Everton followers are concerned, Vlasic was one of their better players on the night.

Vlasic has actually looked positive and hungry tonight. Fair play to the young lad. Can't help those around him.— Tortured Toffee (@torturedtoffee) September 14, 2017
On a small positive I thought Vlasic looked lively in spells, he looks a player, given time him and Lookman will come good.— Shoey Mc (@ShoeyEFC1234) September 15, 2017
Vlasic our best player tonight. The rest were shocking. ⚽️#Everton— Lynne Hill (@EFCLynne) September 14, 2017
Vlasic looked good though (in comparison, which isn't all that hard tbh)— ZakMitch (@ZakMitch) September 14, 2017
Feel sorry for Vlasic mate, like starting school and getting wedgied on your first day.— EVERTON (@__Evertonfc__) September 14, 2017
Vlasic the only one making forward moves with pace!— Ana (@toptoffeegirl) September 14, 2017

Vlasic looks the only one arsed— Dan (@BlueDanEFC) September 14, 2017
Bad really when our newest signing Vlasic, is the only one who looks remotely arsed.— robbie o (@coyb12) September 14, 2017
Of course, not everyone shares the above views - and hey, the world would be a dull old place if they did - although tweets such as these are few and far between...
Shocking again from @Everton - players look leggy, devoid of ideas and despite years of experience no leadership. What does Vlasic bring?— Joe Bickerton (@openroadstudios) September 14, 2017
This vlasic is pony why did we sign him? Why is he playing in front or @Alookman_ madnesssssss— Anthony Doyle (@MeDoyle88) September 14, 2017
Genuinely not sure what Vlašić & Bešić could have done to get ahead of Davies & Lookman in the pecking order. Neither on the bench today— Everton Musings (@EvertonMusings) September 14, 2017
First-half goals from Andrea Masiello, Alejandro Gomez and Bryan Cristante in Bergamo have left Everton propping up Europa League Group E after the first round of matches, with its two other sides, Lyon and Apollon Limassol, slightly ahead of the Toffees after sharing a 1-1 draw in Cyprus.
What did you make of Vlasic's display?
