Here is how we predict Aston Villa will line up against Barnsley this weekend:

Aston Villa need to turn things around sooner rather than later, after three consecutive draws and back-to-back nil-nils left their fans wondering where the next win was coming from.

Villa boss Steve Bruce is coming in for criticism and that is only going to increase the longer his side struggles on the field, which means he needs to get his team selection right against Barnsley.

Jonathan Kodjia of Aston Villa in action during the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Middlesbrough at Villa Park on September 12, 2017 in Birmingham, England.

After coming off the bench earlier this week, Villa fans will  be hoping to see striker Jonathan Kodjia start on Saturday, while winger Albert Adomah deserves to kick off proceedings after a 45-minute cameo against Brentford.

One player Villa cannot call on is midfielder Henri Lansbury, who was sent off on Tuesday and will be banned for this clash.

The one positive in recent weeks is that Villa's defence has been solid, although much of that is down to the heroics of Sam Johnstone, who continues to impress during his latest loan stint from Manchester United.

Villa are currently 18th in the Championship with seven points from a possible 21, and that is simply not good enough for a side that needs to be back among the big boys before the make a habit of kicking off new seasons in the second tier.

With that in mind here is how we expect Villa to line up on Saturday afternoon:
