Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez delivered another commanding performance in his second start for the club in the space of a week.

Sanchez was selected at the heart of a back three in between Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.

Faced with lethal Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sanchez and Spurs managed to keep him as quiet as possible.

Tottenham recorded a crucial Champions League win over the injury depleted German side, which puts them now in a favourable position to qualify for the group stages.

Sanchez's presence was a nod to the future at Spurs, with right-back Serge Aurier making his debut for the club.

He made six clearances, more than any of his Tottenham teammates and looked especially comfortable in the second half as Spurs took hold of the game.

On the ball little was expected of him, with Sanchez making only 18 passes during the 90 minutes.

It took a spectacular effort from Andriy Yarmolenko to find the back of the net for Dortmund and there was no fault from Sanchez.
