Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane was a force of nature in the 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund.

The England international scored two terrific goals and caused problems for the German side's defence all night.

He netted either side of half-time after Heung-Min Son's opener had been cancelled out by Andriy Yarmolenko.

Kane sent a message to supporters on Twitter after the match.

Spurs are in a tough group with Real Madrid, Dortmund and APOEL and getting a first win under their belt was crucial, especially doing so at Wembley where their record previously had been poor.

Scoring two goals at Champions League level will also be a vital boost to Kane's already soaring confidence, proving that he can translate his Premier League form to playing against Europe's elite.

Tottenham had owed their fans a big Wembley win and this was it.

The only sour note was a late red card for Jan Vertonghen who will miss the next game against APOEL, but the performance of Davinson Sanchez showed the team have enough strength in depth.
