It is two years since Cameron Borthwick-Jackson broke into the Manchester United team under Louis van Gaal, but he has not enjoyed the same success under Jose Mourinho.
The talented defender was sent on loan to Wolves last season and this move proved disappointing with the full-back rarely playing and returning early.
He had hoped for better fortune on loan at Leeds United after moving on loan last month. So far he will be disappointed.
Last night he was not even included in the Leeds squad for their fixture against Birmingham City.
He also failed to make the bench at the weekend in their home win over Burton Albion.
Borthwick-Jackson now is being used as a third choice left-back with Vurnon Anita deputising for Gaetano Berardi, who returned to the bench last night after a spell out injured.
He has not played a Championship game since August 12, a 0-0 draw with Preston.
There is hope that he could feature in the EFL Cup against Burnley next week, but Leeds could decide to hand Berardi the start in an effort to get him back up to speed.
It is a long season and if he digs in and works hard he could be rewarded with more game time.
But as it stands Manchester United fans are right to be concerned that the talented defender is facing another disappointing year which would severely dent his chances of ever making it back into the Red Devils first team.
