Tony Cascarino has showered praise on Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies.

Former Chelsea player-turned-pundit Tony Cascarino has showered praise on Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies.
Cascarino says that Davies is one player who is dependable, and therefore, he earns the trust of his manager, Mauricio Pochettino.
The 24-year-old left back joined Spurs in 2014 from Swansea City, and has established himself as a very reliable defender for the north London club.
Cascarino says that Davies is not outstanding in any particular aspect of his game, but he is good at most of the things. And the best part of his game is that he hardly makes glaring mistakes.
Davies is the club’s second choice left-back behind Danny Rose, but he has always delivered whenever he has been called upon.

The football pundit adds that Davies has brilliantly handled the pressure of filling in for Danny Rose. He is not an eye-catchy player, but Cascarino feels that the Welshman is underappreciated a little.
He says that Davies reminds him of former Manchester United defender Denis Irwin, who played 12 years for the Old Trafford club, and was a key member of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side that won the historic treble in 1999.
Davies was one of the top performers in Tottenham’s 3-0 win against Everton, and earned rich plaudits from his manager as well.
According to whoscored.com, Davies made four key passes, and provided one assist as well. He also made six clearances and made one tackle during the match.

“I look at Ben Davies and I think, there is a player who the Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino can trust,” said Cascarino to The Times.
“The Wales full back is dependable and, though he isn’t outstanding at one particular thing, he is very good at most things.
“He reminds me a bit of Denis Irwin in the way that he never really makes mistakes. And he has brilliantly handled the pressure of filling in for Danny Rose, the first-choice left back, who is injured.
“Davies might not be as easy on the eye as Rose in terms of the pace of his play or his dynamism, but I think he is a little underappreciated. This season he has created more chances than David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.”
