Celtic and Everton are reportedly interested in signing Lokomotiva's Lovro Majer.
According to Italian newspaper Il Secolo XIX, Celtic are in the race to sign Lokomotiva's Lovro Majer, alongside some of Europe's major clubs.
Majer, 19, has emerged as one of the top young talents in Croatia during his time with Lokomotiva, having joined from NK Trnje back in 2013.
The playmaker notched four goals and 11 assists in all competitions last term, and he has started the new season in sensational form, bagging four goals and three assists in seven games.
Unsurprisingly, Majer's performances have triggered interest in his signature, as Il Secolo XIX report that Celtic are in the race to sign him, along with a host of other clubs.
It's claimed that Everton, Watford, Lille, Nice, Sampdoria and Atletico Madrid are all interested in signing Majer, meaning a huge January battle for his signature could ensue.
Celtic raided Croatian football in 2015 in order to sign centre back Jozo Simunovic from Dinamo Zagreb, and they could look to add teenager Majer – who already has one Croatian cap to his name – in 2018.
Competition from Everton may be a problem; the Toffees just snapped up winger Nikola Vlasic from Hajduk Split in Croatia, meaning Ronald Koeman and Steve Walsh could look to land another top Croatian youngster.
With clubs around Europe also keen, Celtic face a real battle; but with Champions League football, regular playing time and the chance to work under Brendan Rodgers all on offer in Glasgow, the Bhoys may yet stand a chance of landing the wonderkid.
