Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that the players that Leeds United have are technically very good.

Albion got hammered 5-0 by Leeds away from home at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The West Yorkshire outfit headed into the game as favourites and were expected to win. The way that the Whites dismantled Burton and ripped them apart was a marvel to behold.

It was arguably Leeds’s best performance in the Championship this season, and even Burton manager Clough was impressed.

The former Derby County and Sheffield United boss has observed that the players Leeds have are technically very good.

“It was more about how good Leeds were as we couldn’t do anything to stop them this afternoon,” Clough told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “They were excellent from the first minute. They are a very good Championship outfit who haven’t conceded a goal here at Elland Road.

“We were a bit sloppy at times and gave the ball away needlessly but the gulf in quality was there for anyone to see.

“Their players are technically very good and caused us problems throughout - for our back four, especially, it was a very hard afternoon.”

Leeds recruited well in the summer transfer window, signing striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga and attackers Ezgjan Alioski and Samuel Saiz among other players.

Pablo Hernandez is also a very creative player who remains an important player in the current Leeds team, while Kemar Roofe and Stuart Dallas are good attack-minded players who can score goals as well as create them.
