Leeds should have moved for free agent winger early last week.

Agim Ibraimi of Astana celebrates his goal during the UEFA Champions League, Third Round, Second Leg between Celtic and Astana at Celtic Park on August 3, 2016 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The transfer window closed last week but there is still a chance to sign free agents.

Unfortunately for Leeds United they might just have missed out on the best one available.

The Whites have lost out on a chance to add star man Ezgjan Alioski’s international teammate Agim Ibraimi on a free transfer.

Ibraimi was a free agent up until September 5, when he signed with Slovenian side Domzale, who West Ham played last season in the Europa League.

Like Alioski he is a winger, with vast experience playing in Italy, Austria, and under former Leeds boss Darko Milanic at Maribor.

The Sun even reported in 2014 that Milanic was keen to sign Ibraimi for Leeds United, at a potential cost of £1.5 million, but the manager never made it to the transfer window to act on the proposal.

Ibraimi is a former Macedonian player of the year and has Champions League and Europa League experience.

He has 39 international caps and seven goals – including one against Spain.

The 29-year-old was coming off a spell at Kazakh side Astana which was marred by injury, but Domzale have seen fit to take a chance on him.

On a free transfer Leeds should have considered adding him as an experienced option too, to try and help get star summer signing Ezgjan Alioski feel even more comfortable on and off the pitch.

There are very few free agents left which may interest Leeds at this time, and Ibraimi may have been the best option.
