Tottenham Hotspur completed the signing of Fernando Llorente from Premier League rivals Swansea City on transfer deadline day.

The North London club secured the services of of Spanish striker Llorente from Premier League rivals Swansea on a two-year contract.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs had to pay the Welsh club a transfer fee of £12.1 million in order to secure the services of the 32-year-old striker.

Llorente is a very good striker who was a success at the Swans last season. The former Juventus star scored 15 goals and provided one assist in 28 Premier League starts for Swansea during the 2016-17 campaign.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea, who won the Premier League title last season, were interested in signing Llorente on transfer deadline day.

While Spurs fans are pleased to see Llorente join the North London club (click here to read more), former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan’s initial impression of the striker was unflattering.

Jordan told Sky Sports News on Thursday afternoon (4:21pm, August 31, 2017) about Llorente: “Last year, I looked at him. It was a couple of times, I thought this boy can’t trap a bag of cement. He comes on against Crystal Palace, scores two goals in that 5-4 win, and he is back in flavour again.”
