Ezgjan Alioski has started life at Leeds United in fantastic form, as have many of the Whites’ summer signings.

It was certainly an eventful summer for Leeds with a number of players coming in and a couple of last season’s key men moving on, including the manager.

But with Thomas Christiansen’s men beginning the new campaign in excellent form, it appears that the club’s recruitment during what was a crucial window may have been spot on – arguably more spot on than it has been for a number of years.

A number of players who arrived during the summer perhaps deserve to be considered the club’s signing of the window – but perhaps no player has done more to earn that title so far than Ezgjan Alioski, though Samuel Saiz has certainly also put his case forward.

Alioski appears to have taken little time to find his feet in the English game, winning the man of the match award in Leeds’ last two league games and scoring a tremendous clinching goal in the Whites’ most recent fixture, the 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

It could certainly be argued that the Macedonia international has already endeared himself to the Elland Road faithful with a string of tireless displays, where he demonstrated his quality on the ball and desire to win it back in equal measure.

There may have been individual performances that have stood out more along the way, but Alioski has arguably been a consistent seven or eight out of 10, if not better, every single week so far.

And given the number of changes that have taken place at Elland Road over the summer, having players who provide that quality and that consistency is surely essential.

But Alioski is not alone in that, which is why it could certainly be argued that despite the outgoings, Leeds have perhaps enjoyed their best window for a long time, and the 25-year-old has perhaps staked the most credible claim to be considered the best of all of the additions.
