Donald Trump has not had a positive net approval rating in since April

The struggling US president is having a hard time in the polls.

According to data collected by political statistics site FiveThirtyEight, the incumbent US president has not had a positive net approval rating in four months.

The most recent positive approval rating found by any poll was a Morning Consult poll (27th – 30th April), which gave Trump a net approval rating of +3%. In the poll, 48% of respondents said they approved of Trump’s performance while 45% said they disapproved.

However, it is worth noting that a Rasmussen Reports/Pulse Opinion Research poll (13th – 15th June) gave Donald Trump a net approval rating of 0%, according to FiveThirtyEight.

What do the most recent polls say?

  • Gallup (28th – 30th): Approve (34%), Disapprove (60%), Net (-26%)
  • Rasmussen Reports/Pulse Opinion Research: Approve (41%), Disapprove (58%), Net (17%)
  • YouGov: Approve (38%), Disapprove (53%), Net (-15%)

Does this mean Trump is finished?

Trump is a politician who has broken the traditional playbook. His ratings may be awful compared to other presidents at this stage in their presidencies, but in the world of President Trump, a second term is certainly possible.
