Jason Denayer is linked with a second spell at Celtic.

According to the back page of today’s Scottish Daily Mail, Celtic are hoping to re-sign Manchester City centre-back Jason Denayer before the window closes.
Celtic’s move for South African centre-back Rivaldo Coetzee collapsed this past weekend in a blow which has forced manager Brendan Rodgers to explore other targets.
With Erik Sviatchenko linked with a move to Copenhagen, Rodgers might well need another central defender to compete with Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata.

The latest man to be linked is Denayer, who spent the 2014-15 campaign on loan at Parkhead where he starred alongside Virgil Van Dijk in the middle of the Hoops’ defence.
The 22-year-old was relegated with Sunderland in the Premier League last season, having previously endured a mixed stint at Galatasaray in Turkey, and not all Celtic fans are delighted at the prospect of signing him up for a second stint in Glasgow.

It would be interesting to see if Celtic fans’ theory about Van Dijk carrying him are accurate, but it remains to be seen if this link is viable or merely another product of the rumour mill as the transfer window reaches its conclusion.
Rodgers has signed Jonny Hayes, Kundai Benyu and Olivier Ntcham on permanent deals this summer, in addition to the loan signing of Patrick Roberts.
