West Bromwich Albion have agreed a £10.6m fee with Fenerbahce to complete the signing of midfielder Josef de Souza before the transfer window closes on Thursday, according to the Express and Star.

The Baggies will have to obtain a work permit for the 28-year-old, however, as the Brazilian - who has three caps for his country - does not hold an EU passport.

This could prove complicated as the South American has not been capped by Brazil since 2015.

Despite favouring new signings with Premier League experience, manager Tony Pulis has turned to De Souza because of escalating prices for players in the top tier of English football.

The arrival of the versatile midfield star, who can also play at right-back or in central defence, will open up the door for either Sam Field or Rekeem Harper to leave the Hawthorns on loan.

Sky Sports reports that Pulis also has an interest in Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho, but will not be allowed to sign the France international unless Jonny Evans leaves the club.
