Frank De Boer has endured a torrid start to life with Crystal Palace, and the Eagles hierarchy are considering potential replacements for the Dutchman.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Crystal Palace have identified three potential managerial targets should Frank De Boer be unable to recover from the Eagles' torrid start to the season.

There appeared to be plenty of reason for optimism at Crystal Palace over the summer, despite Sam Allardyce leaving immediately after keeping them in the Premier League last term.

De Boer appeared to be an excellent appointment at Selhurst Park, but things have certainly not gone to plan for the Dutchman with Huddersfield, Liverpool and Swansea all beating Palace so far - leaving the Eagles second bottom in the table.

The Mirror reports that the former Inter Milan boss is fighting for his job already, and while the report does not make any claim that suggests that a decision has already been made on his future, it certainly appears that Palace are putting contingency plans in place should De Boer fail to turn things around.

The Mirror reports that an approach for former boss Allardyce is being suggested as a potential option, despite Big Sam previously stating that the Palace job would be his last in the dug-out and later, that only a return to international football management would appeal.

Meanwhile, another former England boss Roy Hodgson is being discussed and Fulham chief Slavisa Jokanovic clearly has admirers amongst the Palace hierarchy.

Jokanovic's Cottagers have made an unspectacular start to the new campaign, but he guided the side to the Championship play-off places last term, and previously led Watford to the top flight.

The Mirror reports that the main stumbling block to a deal for Jokanovic is the £6 million buy-out clause in his deal at Craven Cottage, so it may appear to be a gamble to make an approach if De Boer is unable to turn things around and they do decide to make a change.
