Ivan Marcano of FC Porto
According to the Daily Mail, Everton have expressed an interest in signing Porto defender Ivan Marcano, as they finally look to give Ronald Koeman a left-footed centre back.
The Toffees have already splashed the cash this summer to land Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney - but more money could be spent before Thursday's transfer deadline.
Whilst Keane, who arrived from Burnley, has emerged as a key part of Koeman's defence in the early stages of his season, but another defender has been targeted by Koeman.
Porto defender Ivan Marcano
Given the lack of cover for veteran left back Leighton Baines, and the need for a left-footed centre back so Koeman can play a real three-man back line, the Everton boss told Sky Sports last week that he is hoping to bring in a left-footed centre back before the deadline.
Now, the Daily Mail report that Everton have expressed an interest in signing Porto defender Ivan Marcano, who certainly fits the bill for Koeman.
Marcano, 30, had spells in his native Spain with Racing Santander, Villarreal and Getafe before spells with Rubin Kazan and Olympiakos, eventually joining Porto in the summer of 2014.

The former Spain Under-21 international is the current Porto captain, and he has been a solid defender throughout his time at the Estadio do Dragao, racking up almost 100 appearances for the Portuguese giants.
Now, having played at left back in stages of his career, Marcano is being lined up by Everton, and they may hope to force through a deal for him before the transfer deadline on Thursday night as they hope to finally give Koeman the left-footed defender he has wanted.
