Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe is reportedly wanted by West Bromwich Albion in the summer transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Benik Afobe from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

“Afobe could be available and, if Cherries boss Eddie Howe gives the word, Pulis will be in with a £12m offer for the hitman who made his name with rivals Wolves,” states the report in The Sun.

According to the British tabloid, West Brom manager Tony Pulis has set his sights on Afobe as a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen has faltered.

The 24-year-old striker has been on the books of Bournemouth since January 2016 when he joined from Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be around £10 million.

The former Arsenal prospect was successful at Wolves in the Championship, but Afobe has failed to make an impact for the Cherries in the Premier League so far.

The DR Congo international was able to make only 14 starts in the Premier League last season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in the process.

During the second half of the 2015-16 campaign, Afobe scored nine goals in 23 Premier League starts for Bournemouth.

The striker has failed to score in three Premier League appearances for the Cherries so far this season.
