US President Donald Trump: the strong, incompetent idiot?

A new Quinnipiac University poll asked American voters to describe Trump. Here’s what they said.

The Quinnipiac University poll conducted between the 19th and 22nd August asked voters a variety of questions about the US President Donald Trump. The poll gave the incumbent Republican an approval rating of 35% and a disproval rating of 59% - that’s a net approval rating of -24%.

Poll respondents were also asked to describe Trump in one word - “the first word that comes to mind when you think of Donald Trump”.

The top response was “strong”, with 64 respondents saying that word. This was followed by “idiot” (59), “incompetent” (58) and “liar” (50).

Some other highlights were “racist” on 29, “asshole" on 24.

12 said “buffoon” and 8 said “patriot”. The survey results only include responses which were said by five or more people.

The vast majority of recorded words were negative, while a few were neutral and descriptive, and some were positive.
