Gylfi Sigurdsson scored a stunning goal as Everton reach the Europa League group stage.
Everton’s record signing Gylfi Sigurdsson scored a 50-yard stunning goal as the Toffees booked their place in the Europa League group stages.
Sigurdsson, who joined from Swansea City for a club-record transfer fee of £45 million earlier this month, left an immediate impact on his first Everton start with an unforgettable goal.
Everton were leading 2-0 from the first leg, but they went behind when Josip Radosevic scored just before half-time with a long range effort.
However, immediately after the break, Sigurdsson scored a brilliant goal to restore parity. The 27-year-old picked up a loose ball on the right of the pitch, and fired an effort high towards the Hajduk goal and over the reach of goalkeeper Dante Stipica.

With this result, Everton won the tie 3-1 on aggregate and progressed to the Europa League group stages.
However, it is the wonder goal from Sigurdsson that has left the fans raving on the internet. Here are some of the selected tweets:
Favourite thing about the Sigurdsson goal is that he actually tried it. That inventiveness and impudence makes him a game-changer #EFC— Matt Jones (@MattJFootball) August 24, 2017
Sigurdsson is in that cluster of players beneath the very best, hence the £45M fee, but the goal tonight was very pinnacle world class. #EFC— John Merro (@johnmerro1) August 24, 2017
