Celtic have two of the best strikers in Scotland. While Moussa Dembele is arguably the best in his position in the Scottish Premiership, Leigh Griffiths is a proven goalscorer who has played well this season.
Dembele is injured at the moment and will not return to action until September. In the Frenchman’s absence, Scotland international striker Griffiths have done well and has scored important goals.
The Glasgow giants have won all of their Scottish Premiership games so far this season and have also progressed to the group stage of the Champions League.
However, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers could bring in another striker. The former Liverpool manager suggested to The Daily Record earlier this month that he was open to the idea of signing another striker in the summer transfer window.
Earlier this week, The Daily Mail reported that Rodgers plans to sign a striker as well as Patrick Roberts on loan from Manchester City before the summer transfer window closes.
As reported by The Daily Record, French club AS Monaco want to sign Dembele if they lose Kylian Mbappe to Paris Saint-Germain.
Sutton said on BT Sport 2 on Tuesday evening (August 22, 2017) following Celtic’s Champions League playoff round second-leg tie against FC Astana away from home: “The striking’s situation is an interesting one for me.
"A couple of weeks ago he was talking about just having two strikers, trying to keep them happy, and then this week needing another striker. Does that mean the end of Dembele?”
