Newcastle United could be making a very smart purchase by snapping up Munir from Barcelona.

According to the Guardian, Newcastle are discussing making a move for the talented youngster.

Newcastle have been frustrated with their lack of additions so far this summer, but Munir would offer them some much needed flair.

Ayoze Perez has been tasked with being Newcastle’s main source of creativity so far this summer, but the Spaniard has not looked particularly impressive.

Munir has the ability to help transform Rafael Benitez’s side’s attacking threat though, and he could make them much more of a fearsome outfit.

Munir has the pace to drift past defenders, but he also possesses a wonderful gift for spotting an incisive pass.

Although the 21-year-old only has a limited experience of first-team football, he remains a very exciting talent.

And if Newcastle could bring him to St. James’ Park, he would arguably be their best addition of the summer transfer window to date.
