Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers originally was linked with Sardar Azmoun in the early part of the transfer window.

According to a report in the Scottish Sun, Brendan Rodgers is eyeing up signing another striker for Celtic this summer.

Celtic are set to bring in Patrick Roberts in the near future, on a loan deal from Manchester City, but Rodgers wants to improve his attacking options further.

Although the Bhoys already have Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele competing for a striking place, Celtic are keen to snap up another forward.

And The Scottish Sun suggest that Celtic could re-ignite their interest in Sardar Azmoun of Rostov.

Rostov want £10 million for the attacker, but there is a belief that Celtic may just be able to get a deal over the line.

Celtic have effectively qualified for the Champions League, after winning the first-leg of their qualifying tie against Astana 5-0, and that is a major boost for their financial situation.

Rodgers has made no secret of his desire to see Celtic compete better in Europe over the coming years.

Celtic have already made one signing this summer, with Olivier Ntcham arriving from Manchester City, and impressing during his time in Glasgow to date.
