Leeds United are reportedly keen on Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes.
According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United are plotting a move for Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes as they line up potential replacements for Chris Wood ahead of the transfer deadline.
The Whites saw Wood, 25, enjoy a remarkable campaign last season as he notched 30 goals in all competitions, but the New Zealand international is now believed to be on the verge of completing a £15million move to Premier League side Burnley.

Wood, who was omitted from Saturday’s win over Sunderland in order to facilitate his move to Burnley, will leave a huge hole in the Leeds attack, and manager Thomas Christiansen must now eye up other strikers – especially as Caleb Ekuban suffered an injury against Sunderland.
Now, the Daily Mail report that Leeds are lining up a move for Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes – though it’s claimed that Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers are leading the race for his signature as they bid to add more firepower this summer.
Rhodes, 27, made his name with Huddersfield Town, smashing 87 goals in 148 games for the Terriers before heading to Blackburn Rovers in 2012, where he scored 85 times in 165 games as he continued to prove himself as a top goal poacher.
The Scotland international joined Middlesbrough in January 2016, but endured a tough time on Teesside with just six goals in 24 games, and he hasn’t enjoyed much more success with Wednesday either.

Initially signed on loan from Middlesbrough earlier this year, Wednesday completed a permanent deal for Rhodes despite scoring just three goals in 20 games last season following his move to Hillsborough, and he even had a penalty saved against Leeds at Elland Road, as shown above.
Wednesday may now be willing to cash in on Rhodes after his poor spell with the club, and Leeds could offer him an escape route as Wood’s replacement – but with Wolves leading the race, Leeds may have to make an offer that rivals Wednesday simply can’t refuse before the transfer window slams shut.
