Burnley and Swansea City are both reportedly keen on Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback.
According to The Sun (p60), Burnley and Swansea City are interested in signing Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback – but his wages could be a problem in any move.
Colback, 27, left Sunderland back in 2014 to complete a controversial move to local rivals Newcastle, his hometown club and the club he grew up supporting despite playing for Sunderland.

The midfielder has racked up almost 100 appearances for the club in just over three years at St. James’ Park, but he now finds himself on the fringes of the Newcastle side.
Rafael Benitez has brought in Mikel Merino to boost his midfield options, whilst he also still has Jonjo Shelvey and Isaac Hayden at his disposal, leaving Colback way down the pecking order.
As Benitez looks to ship players out to balance the books, Colback looks primed for the chopping block – and The Sun (p60) report that Premier League rivals Burnley and Swansea City are vying for his signature.
However, it’s noted that Colback is earning around £70,000-a-week, and those wages could block potential moves to Turf Moor or the Liberty Stadium.

Burnley have already brought in Jack Cork to boost their midfield option this summer, whilst Swansea snapped up Roque Mesa from Las Palmas, but could invest in Colback after selling Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton.
Newcastle are unlikely to put up much of a fight to keep hold of Colback, but it may be his wages that scupper a late transfer window move for the midfielder.
