Newcastle United are set to cut their squad down, to make room for new additions.

According to a report in the Daily Star, Emmanuel Riviere, Massadio Haidara, Tim Krul and Jack Colback are all set to leave Newcastle United in the next few days.

Newcastle have been looking to offload the quartet for much of the summer so far, and it seems they are getting closer to finding buyers.

The Star claim that it is only a matter of days before all four of the fringe players depart St. James’ Park for new teams.

Haidara, Krul, Colback and Riviere were all left out of Newcastle’s squad for their opening match of the season against Tottenham Hotspur.

Rafael Benitez has deemed them all surplus to requirements, and now needs to offload players to make room for his new additions.

Newcastle have made six signings so far this summer, with Joselu the latest player to arrive from Stoke City, but they have not finished their business yet.

Newcastle are expected to bring in more new players before the end of the month, but will need to ensure that their squad doesn’t become bloated.
