Tottenham Hotspur last beat Newcastle United at St James' Park in 2015.

Newcastle's previous spell in the Premier League would end with a home game against Tottenham, and that is how they begin this new campaign this weekend.

Spurs' last visit may have been one to forget, but their visit in April 2015 saw Tottenham claim a 3-1 win thanks to goals from Nacer Chadli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane.

So what became of the Spurs side that won on that day? Here, HITC Sport has taken a look...

Michel Vorm

Michel Vorm remains Hugo Lloris' understudy for Spurs, three years after his arrival from Swansea City.

Eric Dier

Eric Dier is one of the most versatile players in the Tottenham squad, and against Newcastle he featured at right-back. With Kyle Walker moving on and Kieran Trippier injured, perhaps he could feature at right-back against the Magpies this time around.

Federico Fazio

After a difficult spell with Spurs, Federico Fazio finally moved off their books permanently this summer, joining Roma after spending last season on loan with the Serie A side.

Jan Vertonghen

The clash with Newcastle will present Jan Vertonghen with the chance to make his 201st appearance for Spurs in all competitions.

Danny Rose

Danny Rose remains on Tottenham's books, but perhaps some of the fans would rather he wasn't after comments he recently made in an interview.

Paulinho

After an underwhelming spell at White Hart Lane, Paulinho left for the Chinese Super League and Guangzhou Evergrande in 2015. He is seemingly on his way to Barcelona this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Nabil Bentaleb

Nabil Bentaleb barely featured for Spurs during the following season and spent last year on loan with Schalke. He joined the Bundesliga side permanently this summer.

Erik Lamela

After a difficult start to life with Tottenham, Erik Lamela provided several hints more recently that suggested that he was really finding his feet at the club. Unfortunately, injury plagued his season last term.

Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen remains a key player for Tottenham four years after his arrival, having made 179 appearances for the club, scoring 42 goals.

Nacer Chadli

Nacer Chadli left Spurs for West Brom last summer and enjoyed an extremely promising year with the Baggies.

Harry Kane

Harry Kane has won the Golden Boot in the last two seasons in the Premier League. His next goal for Spurs will be his 100th for the club in all competitions.
