Tottenham Hotspur are close to signing Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez.

According to reports from The Sunday Mirror (printed edition; press reader), Tottenham Hotspur are close to completing the signing of Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez.

The report claims that the 21-year-old is on the “verge of signing” for Spurs, with the north London giants thought to be splashing a massive £35 million on the player.

Tottenham’s representatives are reportedly in Amsterdam to tie up a deal for the Colombian.

Sanchez is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League, and should the deal go through, he would become the first signing of the summer for the north London club.

The Ajax defender has hugely impressed last season, and his pace and power has made him one of the top young players in the Dutch league.

Tottenham fans have grown frustrated with their side’s inactivity this summer, but former players and pundits have urged the fans to keep faith in Mauricio Pochettino.

Meanwhile, Spurs began the 2017/18 Premier League campaign on a high note, after beating Newcastle United 2-0 at St James’ Park on Sunday.
