Leeds United were held to a 0-0 draw by 10-man Preston.

It's safe to say that Noel Whelan wasn't best pleased with Leeds United's performance on Saturday.

Leeds missed a glorious chance to make it two wins from two in the Championship after being held to a goalless draw by 10-man Preston North End at Elland Road.

The Lilywhites saw Ben Pearson sent off on 61 minutes but Thomas Christiansen's side - who scored seven goals in two matches this season - failed to capitalise on their advantage.

Chris Wood and Ezgjan Alioski both fluffed good chances, the latter slipping at a key moment, and former Whites hitman Whelan had a list of things which he says was simply not good enough from the Yorkshire outfit yesterday.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "The quality in the final third wasn't good enough. Crossing wasn't good enough. Movement wasn't good enough.

"We didn't create enough chances. We didn't move the ball quick enough. That's the problem. It's disappointing."

United, who had 32,000 fans in attendance against Preston, will get another chance to give their supporters a league win at Elland Road on Tuesday when Fulham come to town.
