Andy Couzens did not condone Leeds United fans booing on Saturday.
Leeds United endured a frustrating afternoon on Saturday by being held to a goalless draw by 10-man Preston North End.
The Lilywhites had to contend with a numerical disadvantage for the final half-an-hour at Elland Road after seeing a man sent off for two yellow cards.
And Leeds, who scored seven goals in their previous two matches, struggled to find the breakthrough, with Chris Wood and Ezgjan Alioski fluffing good chances.
Such was their predicament, Preston did their best to slow the match down in a tactic which infuriated the home fans, who made their feelings clear by booing.
It is not clear whether the boos were directed at the opposition players for the time wasting or the referee for effectively condoning it by not acting stronger - it seems likely that it was the latter.
Either way, former Leeds midfielder Andy Couzens believes that the Whites fans who did make their frustration heard were "bang out of order".
Got to say I can't people were booing at the end of the game yesterday!! Bang out of order if you were one of them yes disappointing result.— andy couzens (@andycuz23) August 13, 2017
I agree the ref was terrible but I have never heard booing for the opposing team at the end of a game!! https://t.co/UhmyyOPUBo— andy couzens (@andycuz23) August 13, 2017
Yes it was a disappointing result, given the circumstances, but Leeds have won four points from a possible six so far this season and there's still many reasons to be cheerful.
United get the chance to atone for the result on Tuesday by hosting Fulham.
