Barcelona and Spain icon Xavi Hernandez has described reported Everton and Tottenham Hotspur target Jean Seri as "fantastic".
The 26-year-old Nice midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer.
Unfortunately for both of those sides, Barcelona are also rumoured to want him and Xavi certainly believes his former club could benefit from having such a talent.
"When I was told that a Nice player was being called the African Xavi, I followed him closely of course," he told Le Parisien.
"I did not know him and I was captivated. I was no longer used to seeing such talent in the middle of the pitch.
"[He’s got a] short game, long game, tactical intelligence, shooting from distance, personality, game organisation. He would go so well at Barca. He can play anywhere in the middle. Seri is fantastic"
Tottenham have signed nobody this summer and Mauricio Pochettino could do with easing the fans' concerns a tad, but the Argentine has an abundance of midfield talent as it is and it's hard to seeing Seri fit into Spurs best XI.
Everton, on the other hand, have spent over £100 million on players and perhaps Ronald Koeman wants Seri, amid speculation linking Ross Barkley and Gareth Barry with exits.
