Tottenham Hotspur should consider selling Danny Rose and buying Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand instead.
The left-back has gone on record to announce his dissatisfaction about wages and transfer policy, and has completely undermined Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine has always been ruthless previously, and although Rose is a key player in his system, Spurs should consider allowing the England international to leave.
Tottenham could fetch a huge sum for Rose, and that should be re-invested in getting Bertrand from Southampton.
Bertrand is only a year older than Rose, and possesses the ability required to replace the Spurs man.
Bertrand is very solid defensively, but he also is capable going forward and his pace can be a major weapon.
Southampton will want to keep Bertrand, but they are a club who have been persuaded to sell key players in the past, following big money offers.
And if Tottenham do part ways with Rose, then Bertrand should be right at the top of their list to replace him.
