The Liverpool faithful appear in agreement in the Spaniard’s suitability to the team.

They say hope for the best and prepare for the worst, and that’s exactly the mindset Liverpool fans seem to be adopting as the transfer saga surrounding Philippe Coutinho’s future rumbles on.

In a Sky Sports report, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp insisted that the Brazilian midfielder was priceless amid continued interest from Barcelona.

But that hasn’t stopped Liverpool fans taking to Twitter to suggest replacements should the 25-year-old depart Anfield.

One name that continued to crop up was that of Marco Asensio, who Spanish website Diario Gol report has been the subject of a bid from the Merseysiders this summer.

Arsenal and Juventus are also named as suitors of the 21-year-old talent, who Diario Gol suggest wants a pay rise and more playing time at Real Madrid.

Although there appeared to be a slight difference in the fees Liverpool fans were willing to fork out for Asensio, ranging from £72m up to £120m, one thing was without doubt: they all want him at Anfield:

Asensio scored three goals and registered two assists in La Liga for Los Blancos last season.

He also made a brief cameo appearance off the bench against Manchester United in Madrid’s recent Uefa Supercup win.
